Sex in Commonwealth Games at Melbourne

As if the pressure of winning a gold medal or scoring a perfect 10 wasn’t enough. Ansell, the official condom distributor for the 2006 Commonwealth Games at Melbourne, has predicted that athletes and officials could have sex an average of 10 times over the 11 day event.

The company has announced it will provide 60, 000 free condoms to the official games village, which is expected to house 4, 500 competitors and 1, 500 officials.

And if the company learned anything from its experience stocking the Sydney Olympics in 2000, it will need to have more condoms on hand for when stocks run out.

"We initially supplied 50, 000 condoms for the athlete’s village in Sydney in 2000; however, 30, 000 additional condoms were requested during games time," Ansell’s Asia Pacific marketing vice president Burton Van Rooyen was reported to have said.

"We learned quite a lot from the Olympics," he added. Asked if Ansell planned to bring out a commemorative condom to mark the event, he replied, "Not at this stage. We hope every one will be memorable."

Gangraped and Videographed the Episode

Two college girls were allegedly gangraped by six youths in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, who videographed the act to blackmail them into keeping mum about the incident.

One of the girls died later and her father lodged an FIR, alleging that she and her friend were raped by six youths at a house in Ganganagar colony.

According to the FIR, Shashikant a relative of the girl had invited her to his house on the pretext of a birthday celebration. The girl and her friend were then locked in a room where Shashikant and five others allegedly raped them.

The post-mortem could not be conducted as the police were informed of the incident only after the victim’s death. Police said they were on the lookout for the suspects.

Similar case are common these days. A son of poltician in UK raped his Indian girl friend. But nothing can be done on the rapist and she left India, without word. She dared to come to UK on holiday all the way from India for her boy friend.

On another occasion, a telugu cine actress, Pratyusha was gangraped and murdered by her boyfriend and some polticians sons. But with poltical influence they changed story that she did sucide.

'Unzipped' Flashers in Chennai

Anybody who wants to see a male striptease, travel to the Korattur Railway Station in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The station has become a haven for sexual perverts, who roam around 'flashing', sending school and college-going girls, and women into a flurry.

When girls passed by, these 'unzipped' flashers show their manhood for 'free view'. But when men crossed by, they would cover with a bag or something. "Such happenings are nothing new to us," a student of the college lamented. This has been the case for the past one year, and different men at different points of time, have been seen resorting to obscene gestures.

The college even went to the extent of sending two staff members as escorts for its students, which deterred the 'flashers' for a day. However, students see no end to this problem as nearly five men, aged 20-45, have been frequenting the area over the period of one year.

A 40-year-old woman, employed at another college in the area, says, "Such acts of perversion are so disgusting and affect us. We carefully take each step on the over-bridge, half-expecting a 'flasher' at every turn. Girls are pained by such incorrigible deeds."

Moreover, the Korattur Railway Station has very little shade from the Sun, forcing the girls to stand on the stairs of the over-bridge, right near the spot where the 'flashers' firmly plant themselves.

When contacted, the police said that the issue had been brought to their knowledge only recently and promised to put an end to the issue.

Professor Suspended for Sexual Misconduct

The Chhattisgarh government has suspended a professor of a reputed college on charges of sexual misconduct with girls after protests and threats of suicide by the students.

"We had no option but to suspend B Mazoomdar for his regular highly objectionable sexual behaviour with girl students... he undermined the relationship between teachers and students," Higher Education Minister Ajay Chandrakar was reported to have said.

Mazoomdar was an assistant professor in the physics department of Science College. He had been facing the ire of students since the past three days after over a dozen girl students reported that he had misbehaved with them several times.

The students threatened to commit suicide if the authorities failed to take proper action against Mazoomdar. Chandrakar said a departmental inquiry had been ordered to decide on further action against the professor.

Mazoomdar's suspension order came after a probe panel, set up by the government on Monday to investigate the matter, found the charges by girls students genuine. More than 12 girls told the panel that the assistant professor was always on the lookout for an opportunity for physical contact and made objectionable and graphic gestures.
