Baichung to launch football academy for underprivileged Delhi walah

Surprised to hear that Baichung Bhutia is launching a football academy for underprivileged in NCR of India (near NOIDA, DELHI, GURGAON). Why he chose the region and the children? There is no dearth for  poor, talented and ungroomed talents in his  home town and north eastern region. He should have started the academy in the region  before going to get name and fame in the metros. What is in his mind we dont know but  one thing is clear, this guy wants media publicity and endorsement in the NCR region which he wont get in his home town.

Saturday, October 30 will mark a new beginning for India football captain, Baichung Bhutia. For, the most popular Indian footballer, will venture into identifying and coaching young talent in the country by starting a football school for underprivileged and orphaned children at Noida, New Delhi.

He was reported to have said that "This is one of my dream projects. Thirty per cent of the slots will be reserved for students from poor backgrounds. These students will be trained free of charge. I have taken some land on lease in Delhi for the school. It will not be a residential facility."

I want to ask him is the people of north east India more richer and privileged than those staying in the NCR.

It is learnt that the project is a joint venture with Portugal's Carlos Queiroz football academy. About this football school to be opened in the Capital, Bhutia said: "There are many children who want to play football but don't have the resources, especially kids from poor families and those residing on the streets."

If the Football academy is opened in any of the north east Indian states, we may see   football  players  from our region who can play in FIFA.  He  does not want his successors, so neglecting the region. Bhutia never loves his  region as we love him and proud to be the footballer from our region, God blessed him!

Are the People From North East and Kashmir "Not" Our People?

Committee for the Release of Dr Binayak Sen, Mumbai, in an open letter to  Prime Minister , Home Minister and Sonia Gandhi, has asked if the people of Kashmir and the North East were not the people of India.

The open letter, carrying the slogan “Listen to Irom Sharmila–Repeal AFSPA–Treat Kashmiris and the North East As Our Own,” which was made available to the press by Just Peace Foundation today, said, "We have noticed a striking anomaly in the way the armed forces and the state treats the people of Kashmir and the North East. When contemplating the use of the armed forces in the forest belt, the armed forces and the state concluded (quite correctly, in our opinion) that they should not be used against the people of this region, including the Maoists, since 'they are our people'. Yet the very same armed forces have no compunction about being deployed against the people of Kashmir and the North East, and the state agrees! Worse still, the armed forces insist that they cannot carry out their duties without AFSPA, which allows them to rape, torture and kill with impunity."

"So what is happening here? Are the people of Kashmir and the North East not 'our people'? This is indeed the message that comes across. And if these people feel that they are not regarded or treated as 'our people' by the state and armed forces of India, is it surprising that many of them do not want to belong to India? In fact, AFSPA allows the armed forces to commit atrocities that would be considered war crimes even if they were directed at a foreign enemy.

There is no justification for keeping it on the statue books, because it is incompatible with international humanitarian law. Its enforcement in these states has been one of the main reasons why there has been no resolution of the conflicts in them for decades. Consulting the armed forces about the repeal of a law that allows them unlimited power is worse than useless: why would they ever agree? Surely you ought instead to be consulting people like Irom Sharmila, who has been waging a heroic and totally non-violent struggle against AFSPA for ten years!

Shouldn't the government be asking her why she is ready to sacrifice her life to get this law repealed? And taking her answer deadly seriously before she dies?" the letter read.

Facebook Users Sacked for Flirting

At least three teachers from public high schools in New York have been sacked in the past six months for making indecent remarks while dealing with students on Facebook, a media report said Monday.

According to the New York Post, Chadwin Reynolds, one of the booted teachers who "friended" about a half-dozen female students, wrote creepy comments like, "This is sexy", under some of their Facebook photos, investigators found.

Reynolds allegedly even tried to get one teen to go out with him by getting her phone number and sending her flowers, candy and a teddy bear.

On his Facebook profile, Reynolds, 37, posted a tasteless tagline that read, "I'm not a gynaecologist, but I'll take a look inside", according to the special commissioner of investigation for the New York City school district.

The department of education (DOE) confirmed that Reynolds had been cut loose because of the social-networking scandal, the report said.

Laurie Hirsch, 30, another former DOE employee, was canned in May for her steamy Facebook scene involving a student.

She had posted a photo of her kissing an 18-year-old male former student on the lips, which sparked an investigation.

The student subsequently told investigators that he had had sex with Hirsch about 10 times in her apartment last year, and records revealed 2,700 phone contacts between the pair over a six-month period.

Hirsch said neither she nor the student had been attending school any longer when their dalliance began.

"I was suspended indefinitely for using a cellphone too frequently during school time," she said. "And it didn't seem in any way, shape or form that I was getting my job back when the relationship with the boy took off."

In Manhattan, New York, substitute teacher Stephen D'Andrilli also "friended" several female students on Facebook and sent inappropriate messages, the report said.

He allegedly sent one girl a message telling her she was pretty and told her he had tried to visit her during one of her Saturday classes.

D'Andrilli, who did not return a message seeking comment, was barred last month from subbing ever again.

Despite the flurry of troubling incidents, DOE officials said they don't currently have a policy that addresses teacher-student communication on Facebook.

"Still, we continually look at ways that our policies may need to evolve to keep pace with technology," said a DOE spokeswoman.

Dirty and Tragedy of Online Network Marketing

Some may be genuine, I am not blaming to all. Here is a select  network and their complaints. The post is written in the wake of Jainex International Trade (www.jitmarket.com) vanishes with Rupees 50 crore from Manipur state. The views expressed are collected  from internet and other sources. The  words are produced in the original form, so no correction on the grammar and sentence  structure as well.

ON JAINEX INTERNATIONAL TRADE (JIT MARKET)

Jainex International Trade or commonly known as JIT market duped thousands of investors of the state as the website hosted by the alleged company offering financial services became unavailable all of a sudden.
Pandemonium broke out at Khagempalli Pankha early morning today when an irate mob of investors on learning about the news of the vanished website came to the residence of one Huidrom Nandakumar (55), who is said to be key person behind company’s operation in the state.
Nandakumar, resident of Khagempalli Pankha is presently an executive engineer in the Manipur Development Society.
A huge crowd which had gathered at his residence started demanding their money back as they were suspicious of the company’s intent following sudden disappearance of website.
According to reports, some 3000 people of the state have invested money with Jiainex ranging from Rs 50,000 upto Rs 10 lacs individually from September 21, 2010 onwards. More than Rs. 40 crores are speculated to have been be deposited by the investors to the Jiainex account.
The networks operating on the internet and doing good “business” in Manipur are VISAREV, FOREX, STOCKGURU, UNIPAY, UNIGOLD 2 U etc.
Travel Ventures International (TVI) was the first internet networking company to operate in the state. According to sources, more than 5000 people have lost their money in investing to the network business.

Letter to Tarun & Associates, Travel Venture International (TVI) New Delhi, India
10 months, 24 days and 7 hours, 44 minutes, 50 seconds ago
Dear Great Leaders of Tvi
I am writing this letter with a hope that Mr. Tarun Trikha of TVI would answer to my queries. I am compelled to rite this for TVI Company took forever to reply my query being communicated to the support group. Now it is doubtful whether there is a Travel Venture International or not? Who really they are? Whom should we contact in case of problems? The leaders in Manipur are another dump who all fantasized in the Dollar game, the dollar of TVI or dollars manufactured by Tarun.
(1) I am a member of TVI. I joined the scheme not to become a private jet or yatch owner. Being a traveler by nature, I was really lured by your so called 6 nights seven days vacation across the globe, as shown in TVI website. By and by I enrolled a lot of members and today, about 150 members have had cycled out from Express board under me. As per the TVI promises I am supposed to own a private jet by now. But the fact remains that not a single reward did so far been distributed. I doubt whether I will get a laptop or not. As of now the leaders in Manipur what made them keeping mum when the situation raised this level?
(2) Thailand leadership event will never take place. The leadership event was supposed to stage in August 2009 but now it is November. Even the much hyped TVI office in Bangalore has now become a story. Something Marble Arch Tower in London sometimes is Switzerland and now in Bangalore as they said ‘we are growing so we are moving’. Moving from London to Bangalore.
(3) Mr. Tarun when he came to Imphal he said the office in Bangalore will be fully ready by 10th of November but till today nothing about an office in Bangalore is heard of.
(4) I shall take back my words if the office in Bangalore ever opens and travel package could be made available to its members soon. The 2.50 lacs deducted from the EB cycle out seemed to have been frozen in Company’s freezer. In the name of pre-launching such a huge amount is looted prom the members thus depriving the right of the members.
(5) In any Network upline is like a walking ghost who rushes to the spot where his down line needed him the most. In TVI there is no upline, Tarun.. is the name. Somebody also should ask of not Tarun than who…? What about the English gentlemen whose name shown on the website. No… this is cheat, fraud…..
(6) The presidential associate members in Manipur. Please you also find out the clues. Your rank is the zenith in this Network. you should be able to assist your down line, get latest information, But all the Presidential associates seemed to be more interested with only the dollar gambling. Please change the attitude. I shall be obliged if some one put me light on this matter.
Yours Sincerely
K.N. Haokip

Never Volunteers Again

More than 4,500 volunteers had backed out alleging that the Organizing Committee had betrayed them by promising money at the time of recruiting them and going back on it at the eleventh hour. The volunteers, most of them students from the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, were threatened by the varsity authorities that if they would not join their duty "action" would be taken against them. Out of the 31,000 volunteers, 6,125 had enrolled from the IP University alone.

Volunteers were engaged for performing a range of duties during the games like acting travel and tour guides around venues and airports, working with the media units and helping out the traffic police in managing vehicle flow around the venues.

These girl volunters had thought it was about national pride but what they had to go through is nothing short of national shame.

Several girls from the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, who joined as student volunteers for the Commonwealth Games, have alleged their senior colleagues and officials attached to the Organising Committee harassed them sexually.

At least two girls posted at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium have resigned, alleging their seniors asked for sexual favours. However, under family pressure they were not able to file any formal complaint against the accused officials. When the harassment didn't stop, they left their jobs.

"My senior assured me relaxed working hours and incentives, if I obliged him," said one of the volunteers who stopped reporting for work at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, the showpiece venue for the Games.

"Our parents did not want us to go there again. They were worried about our security," said another volunteer, who was also harassed at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

Both girls, refusing to divulge their identities, claimed there have been several cases across venues but no formal complaints, as the accused either threaten the victims or try to coax them into not registering complaints.

"A lot of them also give in to family pressure and the stigma for the whole family," one of the victims told MiD DAY.More than 2,700 girls from the Indraprastha University have been volunteering for the Commonwealth Games.

Authoritative sources across Games venues have confirmed that several girls have been "asked out" by their seniors.

"By offering incentives, seniors ask for sexual favours," said one of the volunteers at Thyagraj Stadium, venue for the Netball event.Another volunteer alleged that the workforce manager Mrs Prerna used to "send the girls to some specific officials" for random work.

"She would send us to one Mr Pramod who used to ask girls out for coffee and dinner," said a victim.
Yet another volunteer at Indira Gandhi Stadium claimed that Abhay, assistant manager, volunteers, have been asking for sexual favours from the girls.

Complaints were also heard against the head of the technical department, Saumesh, at the Yamuna Sports Complex. "Most of the girls are apprehensive of his "over-friendly" behaviour," said a girl posted at the complex, situated in east Delhi.

Even the university officials seem to be aware of the issue but they said they were yet to receive a formal complaint."It is shocking. Our university is actively participating in the event. This kind of behaviour is intolerable and strict action should be taken against the culprits," said Vibhor Anand, Head Convener, Commonwealth Games, Student's volunteer programme, IP University.

"I have not heard any such complaint. We will bar all volunteers from Games duties, as soon as I get any such complaint. Also, we will officially look into the matter by filing a written complaint with the Organising Committee," said Professor DK Bandyopadhyay, Vice-Chancellor, IP University.

The volunteers staged a protest outside the Organising Committee (OC) office on Tuesday. The volunteers were complaining about the "rude" behaviour of their seniors.

"They are treating us like peons. We are made to clean the floors and have also been asked to pick the garbage," said Santosh, one of the volunteers who protested outside the OC office."In fact we are asked to work odd hours. It is becoming difficult for us to work in such environment," said Anita, another volunteer present at the protest. Rajan Bhagat, PRO, Delhi police said he received no such complaints.

Trafficked Mizo Girls Asked to do Sexual Favours

The three girls from Mizoram, who were rescued by the Crime branch team on Saturday, have revealed to the police that they were being asked to do sexual favours for customers at the beauty parlour in Porvorim and when they refused they were beaten up by the owner.

The three girls, one of them a minor, were trafficked into Goa with a promise to work in Lotus beauty parlour.
“They are school drop-outs and were contacted by a local lady, who informed them that there is job for girls to work in beauty parlour in Goa. Though they are not trained beauticians, they were told that they will be given training in Goa,” said sources.

They arrived in Goa less than a month back. “At first things were okay. But later, they were forced to given in to the sexual favours sought by customers. The customers, mostly male tourists, would ask for a complete body massage and pay ` 7,000 at the counter. They were then taken to a small cabin where the girls were asked to massage the naked men for almost two hours. They had to also give in to the sexual favours sought by the customers. If they refused and the customers complained, then the girls were beaten up,” the girls have revealed in their statement to the police.
The girls told the police that they were again beaten on October 2, and its then that the three of them got together and planned to escape. Accordingly on October 4 they got an opportunity to escape when they were being taken from the parlour to the flat in which they were lodged in Porvorim. They then contacted their relatives in Mizoram and spilled the beans.
A police complaint was lodged in Mizoram and the Mizoram police along with a local NGO contacted Goa based NGO ARZ with detailed information and FIR copy. ARZ on Saturday submitted the same to the police, who raided the beauty parlour premises and rescued 11 girls who were trafficked into Goa to work in the parlour.

Police have arrested Shanta alias Laxmi Mishra, the owner of the parlour, along with four men for trafficking the girls to Goa for prostitution. They have been remanded to 7 days police custody. Another three of Mishra`s associates have been arrested by Mizoram police in a raid on Saturday.

Incidentally, after going through the documents, police learnt that though Mishra ran a massage parlour in the beauty salon, she had permission only to run a beauty parlour and haircutting salon under the Shops and Establishments Act, said sources. Police are now investigating whether the girls were being taken out in the coastal belt for.

Condom Waste Game (CWG) 2010

A large condom vending machine has been installed at the Common Wealth  Game Village, which may now be called as Condom Waste Games (CWG) 2010 which contains at least 4,000 contraceptive packs.Officials said more than half the condoms in the machine have already been taken out. The condoms are available at the Games Village polyclinic.

"We have installed a big condom vending machine which contains at least 4,000 contraceptives.According to reports from the Village, more than 2,000 condoms have been used so far. We will refill the machine, if need be," a health official said.

The machine at the polyclinic contains four master cartons, each of which contains 960 packets and one packet contains two condoms.

To prevent the spread of sexually-transmitted diseases during the CWG, the National AIDS Control Organisation, the Delhi State AIDS Control Society and the Hindustan Latex Family Planning Promotion Trust have also installed condom vending machines at various Games venues, hotels and markets.Around 129 machines have been installed across Delhi to make condoms available round the clock. People have been hired to take care of the machines.

"The machines at the Village and other venues have been branded in sync with the CWG theme to spread the message of ' Play Safe'," an official said.

Condoms are always in demand at all residential quarters for athletes during every big international sporting event. There was a shortage of condoms in the Vancouver Winter Olympics held in February this year. Health officials there had provided one lakh free condoms to roughly 7,000 athletes and officials, but the supply ran short within four days of the start of the event.

AND THE WINNER IS CONDOMS!!!!

Sex Games or Commonwealth Games in India

Thousands of women from India's north-east have been hired by escort agencies for the Commonwealth Games, a rights group has said.

Impulse NGO Network says it fears the girls will be pushed into prostitution. The group said nearly 40,000 women were hired from seven states with promises of "lucrative" pay. Authorities said they were unable to confirm the number.

Escort services advertise in newspapers and are suspected to be fronts for prostitution. Campaigners say major Indian cities, including Delhi, Mumbai (Bombay) and Calcutta, have thriving red-light districts where girls are brought year-round from all parts of India as well as other South Asian countries. Hasina Kharbih, chairperson of Impulse NGO Network, a rights group that rescues women trafficked from north-eastern states, said they had closely monitored the large-scale hiring of women from the north-east for the Commonwealth Games.

"We are indeed very worried for our girls because so many of them have been recruited for escort services. They have been lured by good money and future jobs," said Ms Kharbih. 'Dubious agencies'A government minister in the north-eastern state of Meghalaya said he was apprehensive about the problem.Delhi is expected to receive a number of visitors for the games.

"It is not just girls from Meghalaya, but from across the north-east who have been recruited in huge numbers. We don't have details but we have reasons to be apprehensive," Social Welfare Department Minister JB Lyngdoh said.

Although ticket sales have been low, thousands of tourists are expected to be in Delhi for the 12-day Games, which begin Today
.
Recent police investigations in some north-eastern states have indicated that more than 15,000 girls and young women have gone missing over the past decade. Police say they were lured by lucrative job offers never to return home. Some have been rescued by police and rehabilitated by groups such as Impulse NGO Network.
