Mom Forced Daughter Into Prostitution

“My mother has been forcing me into prostitution since April this year. She has also used black magic and fed me with something that makes me nauseous, to persuade me into doing all this,” said Renuka Patel, a fourteen year old girl.

In a bizarre story from Borivli, a daughter has dragged her mother, Janaki Patel, to the Mumbai police headquarters, accusing her of forcing her into prostitution. For now, the social service branch of the Mumbai police is busy recording statements of those involved in these allegations.

Jignesh Patel, Renuka’s father has said, “Renuka has finally escaped from the clutches of her mother, and we now stay away from her. I get threatening calls on my cell phone to part with Renuka, but I won’t.”

Meera Borwankar, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) has said, who is personally taking part in the investigations, “The daughter’s allegations are serious. Whether it’s true or not, will only be known only after investigations.”
-----------------------------------
My mom was paid Rs 15,000 the first time. In April 2005, my father had gone to Pune for work. My mother asked me to accompany her to a puja at SV Road in Borivli.
There, my mother gave me something to eat, which made me nauseous and dizzy. I was led into a room, a man entered and had sexual intercourse with me.
After an hour when I came outside, I saw the man paying Rs 30,000 to a woman. She gave half the sum to my mother. I had fever and started bleeding from my private parts. Later, I would be taken to a doctor every week, since I bled excessively.
Four days later, I was taken to Chhedha Nagar at Ghatkopar, for another puja. Again, a man had sexual intercourse with me, with more men following at regular intervals. My mother was paid Rs 25,000 that day.
Since then, I have been forced by my mother, grandmother, grandfather and uncle to have sexual intercourse with various men almost every day. In the last nine months, I was taken to five houses, all of which seemed to be owned by respectable people.
My granny would bathe me and dress me up before sending me to the houses. When my father objected, my mother had him beaten up by hired goons.
I quit my tuition classes since I became numb and disinterested in studies. I’ve stopped attending school from this month. When I refused to obey my family, they threatened to be beat me up. My husband is using my daughter to settle old scores
These allegations are baseless. In fact, my husband has used my daughter to settle old scores. We’ve been married for 10 years, but because of problems in our marriage, I was going to get a divorce. My husband does not even earn enough to feed our family. He is a complete failure as a father and husband.
I run a catering business from home with my mother and we deliver the food to houses, offices and schools nearby. If I were indeed involved in running a prostitution racket, we would have never stayed in this tiny chawl. My daughter has been misled by her father.

Sex in Commonwealth Games at Melbourne

As if the pressure of winning a gold medal or scoring a perfect 10 wasn’t enough. Ansell, the official condom distributor for the 2006 Commonwealth Games at Melbourne, has predicted that athletes and officials could have sex an average of 10 times over the 11 day event.

The company has announced it will provide 60, 000 free condoms to the official games village, which is expected to house 4, 500 competitors and 1, 500 officials.

And if the company learned anything from its experience stocking the Sydney Olympics in 2000, it will need to have more condoms on hand for when stocks run out.

"We initially supplied 50, 000 condoms for the athlete’s village in Sydney in 2000; however, 30, 000 additional condoms were requested during games time," Ansell’s Asia Pacific marketing vice president Burton Van Rooyen was reported to have said.

"We learned quite a lot from the Olympics," he added. Asked if Ansell planned to bring out a commemorative condom to mark the event, he replied, "Not at this stage. We hope every one will be memorable."

Gangraped and Videographed the Episode

Two college girls were allegedly gangraped by six youths in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, who videographed the act to blackmail them into keeping mum about the incident.

One of the girls died later and her father lodged an FIR, alleging that she and her friend were raped by six youths at a house in Ganganagar colony.

According to the FIR, Shashikant a relative of the girl had invited her to his house on the pretext of a birthday celebration. The girl and her friend were then locked in a room where Shashikant and five others allegedly raped them.

The post-mortem could not be conducted as the police were informed of the incident only after the victim’s death. Police said they were on the lookout for the suspects.

Similar case are common these days. A son of poltician in UK raped his Indian girl friend. But nothing can be done on the rapist and she left India, without word. She dared to come to UK on holiday all the way from India for her boy friend.

On another occasion, a telugu cine actress, Pratyusha was gangraped and murdered by her boyfriend and some polticians sons. But with poltical influence they changed story that she did sucide.

'Unzipped' Flashers in Chennai

Anybody who wants to see a male striptease, travel to the Korattur Railway Station in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The station has become a haven for sexual perverts, who roam around 'flashing', sending school and college-going girls, and women into a flurry.

When girls passed by, these 'unzipped' flashers show their manhood for 'free view'. But when men crossed by, they would cover with a bag or something. "Such happenings are nothing new to us," a student of the college lamented. This has been the case for the past one year, and different men at different points of time, have been seen resorting to obscene gestures.

The college even went to the extent of sending two staff members as escorts for its students, which deterred the 'flashers' for a day. However, students see no end to this problem as nearly five men, aged 20-45, have been frequenting the area over the period of one year.

A 40-year-old woman, employed at another college in the area, says, "Such acts of perversion are so disgusting and affect us. We carefully take each step on the over-bridge, half-expecting a 'flasher' at every turn. Girls are pained by such incorrigible deeds."

Moreover, the Korattur Railway Station has very little shade from the Sun, forcing the girls to stand on the stairs of the over-bridge, right near the spot where the 'flashers' firmly plant themselves.

When contacted, the police said that the issue had been brought to their knowledge only recently and promised to put an end to the issue.

Professor Suspended for Sexual Misconduct

The Chhattisgarh government has suspended a professor of a reputed college on charges of sexual misconduct with girls after protests and threats of suicide by the students.

"We had no option but to suspend B Mazoomdar for his regular highly objectionable sexual behaviour with girl students... he undermined the relationship between teachers and students," Higher Education Minister Ajay Chandrakar was reported to have said.

Mazoomdar was an assistant professor in the physics department of Science College. He had been facing the ire of students since the past three days after over a dozen girl students reported that he had misbehaved with them several times.

The students threatened to commit suicide if the authorities failed to take proper action against Mazoomdar. Chandrakar said a departmental inquiry had been ordered to decide on further action against the professor.

Mazoomdar's suspension order came after a probe panel, set up by the government on Monday to investigate the matter, found the charges by girls students genuine. More than 12 girls told the panel that the assistant professor was always on the lookout for an opportunity for physical contact and made objectionable and graphic gestures.

Nearly 300 dalits from Naduvoor village in Tamil Nadu have been barred from entering the village since a mob went on the rampage there following a murder in the first week of June, 2005.

The village was in the news in the first week of June, when a group of Dalit youths waylaid and hacked Kannan, a member of another community, to death.

They set fire to the haystacks and nearly 15 houses of the Dalits, who fled the village, took shelter in the houses of their relatives in nearby areas. The police brought the situation under control but not before resorting to opening fire in the air.

Madasami, a village elder, has said only 10 to 15 aged Dalits were in the village and all the others had fled. They could return only through another hamlet on the western side called Melur, where their rival communities were dominant. London-based charity 'Save the Children' findsout that up to 80 percent of schoolgirls in Liberia were selling sex to pay for their education. A spokesperson for the charity said on September 5, the day the report was published, that their findings pointed to a figure of between 60 to 80 percent of schoolgirls selling sex to pay for their school fees here. Two other officials from the charity made similar comments. The findings underlined a social crisis in the country, which is holding elections next month in an attempt to draw a line after 14 years of civil.

Meanwhile, Liberia's transitional government said the comments were damaging and gave the charity a week to retract them. It has also given a seven-day ultimatum to 'Save The Children-UK' to withdraw its damaging report, which has already been widely circulated.

Sex Workers Demand Rights in India

Sex workers from across India have pledged to intensify their campaign for legalisation of their profession. They said the move, announced at a national convention in Calcutta, has become necessary following the closure of dance bars in Maharashtra.

Campaigners say that legal recognition is crucial for the future of the children of sex workers. The National Network of Sex Workers also said that it will organise a protest march to the Indian parliament.

Swapna Gayen, Secretary of Calcutta's Durbar Mahila Samanoy Samity (DMSC), was reported to have said that legal rights for sex workers have become more important than ever before. Swapna added,"Look at how the government closed down the dancing bars and threw tens of thousands of woman out of work. If these were legalised, this would not have happened. So we demand legalisation of the sex trade in our city and in the whole of the country. It is a question of survival with dignity."

Now, sex workers from all over Asia visit Calcutta to learn from the DMSC about how to organise themselves to demand legal rights and protection, how to practise safe sex by making condom use mandatory and how to keep away all those who try to take away their hard earned incomes. Sex workers from Bangladesh, attending this convention as observers, also support the demand.

Market for Bride Trading in Western India

This is India where marriage like relation are treated as sacred ritual, made in Heaven relations. When girl child murder are on the rise, buying bride is one new culture people following in these Western Indian states.

A few days ago a Tata Sumo, loaded with tribal belles, drove into Chanasma taluka of Patan district. Several unmarried boys from the Patel community queued up and solemnised marriages with them for Rs 50,000 each! The agent, who conducted the impromptu marriage mela, laughed all the way to the bank. He gave Rs 10,000 each to the girls' parents and took the rest. The next day, the bride disappeared with the gold and silver ornaments, leaving the groom high and dry.

After failing to find a Patel bride, Nilesh Patel (36) of Denap village in Mehsana was forced to buy a tribal bride for Rs 40,000.
Ironically, the girl dumped him to marry a Bharwad boy from Rajkot against a "fee". "Patel is in a soup and feels miserable. Understandably, he does not want to spend another fortune finding a bride for his brother only to be duped," says Dhrupad Joshi of Young Citizen of India Charitable Trust.

Such marriage agents are mushrooming in parts of "progressive" Gujarat like Mehsana, Visnagar, Prantij, Khedbrahma, Mansa, Bayad of Sabarkantha district and Saurashtra owing to a forged 'bride-drought'. Consequently, Chanasma has 8,000 unmarried boys and Mehsana has the lowest sex-ratio in the state - 772 girls against 1,000 boys.

An estimate shows at least 150 agents and subagents currently thriving on bride trading in Gujarat, using tribal girls from Khedbrahma, Chhota Udepur, Dahod and south Gujarat for eligible boys in the Patel, Chaudhary, Prajapati and other communities. "The going rate is Rs 60,000 for a tribal bride, Rs 80,000 for a non-tribal girl and over Rs 1 lakh for a labour class Patel girl in Kutch," says Laloo Desai of Manav Kalyan Trust.

Desai says that agents cheat gullible clients by show-casing married tribal girls. "Some tribal girls get Rs 1,000-2,000 for just posing as a prospective bride," he says.
"In Umeedpura village of Idar, a boy reportedly committed suicide after two tribal girls bought for him and his brother dumped them," says Ila Vakharia of Chetna, a women's organisation.

Man Kills Self After Daughter's Birth

A 45-year-old farmer has committed suicide in the Panchmahal district of Gujarat after he was blessed with a girl child for the seventh time.

UNI reports from Vadodara that frustrated Bharat Somabhai, who was working as farm labourer, was found hanging from the ceiling of his house soon after his wife Chaturi delivered the baby girl on Monday last.

Such is the fear from unborn girl child, some kills inside womb, some discarded. The poor farmer must have thought of coming miseries in their lives - dowry case. Who knows the child do wonders! Bringing with her luck and fortune!

DU Students in Sex Racket

A former Delhi University student was among four women held on Saturday for running a prostitution racket. The women, college students and dropouts, were from the high-profile party circuit and were usually flown to Delhi on weekends.

Police were tipped off that Jagjit Singh Walia alias Jojo, was running a sex racket. A team of the Prashant Vihar police struck a deal with Walia's aide, Navin Jain, through a decoy customer at a five-star hotel in Connaught Place.

According to the police official, one deal was fixed for Rs. 55,000 while another was settled for Rs. 80,000. One of the women Walia referred to was a 22-year-old from Panchsheel Vihar, was a graduate in music and dance from a reputed Allahabad college.

The police soon stumbled upon a network that linked Mumbai and the Capital as well. Besides the Allahabad university graduate was a 23-year-old from Govindpuri, a final year dropout from DU who modelled for various magazines and dailies, who had allegedly joined the call girl business for easy money.

A 20-year-old turned out to be a second-year B Com Honours student from a reputed college in Andheri West, Mumbai while another woman from Bandra is a graduate in Business Administration and works as a receptionist at an upmarket spa in Mumbai.

The girls were allegedly flown to Delhi during weekends and were initially recruited from the party circuit, officials said. The four girls and Jain were produced in court on Sunday.

Girl Marries Temporary Husband

Sneha Patel, a 19-years-old girl from Gujarat has temporarily married her teenaged boyfriend’s elder brother so she can live in the same house as her lover until he is old enough to marry her, a local newspaper reported on Tuesday.

Sneha was in love with Yash Kishan Parmar,19-year-old and wanted to marry him despite her parents’ opposition to the match.

But the legal age for marriage in India - 18 for girls and 21 for boys - put a spoke in their plans. Both lovers eloped briefly but, not wanting to be on the run until Parmar was 21, Patel proposed that she would marry his elder brother and divorce him two years later.

The elder brother even agreed to sign a contract saying he would divorce Patel after two years and treat her as his younger brother’s wife until then.

Is the Indian Society changing bold and modern?

An Alien Exploration in Thailand

Villagers in Thailand claims to have spotted an ‘alien‘ in some rice fields. According to them, the creature, that walked the fields for about an hour oblivious of the villagers, has a small body with a large head and didn’t leave any footprints after it left the fields. The alien is about 70 cm high and has yellow skin and a flat chest. Its mouth is very tiny. It has bald big head with big eyes and big ears. Suddenly, the alien floated to a tree top. After more villagers came to see it, it floated into the sky into the bright light. And laying more credence to the authenticity of the sighting, was the fact that all the ten witnesses drew up similar pictures, when asked to do so by the District chief. "I asked them to draw what they have seen and the pictures came out similarly," District chief Wisit Sitthisombat reoprted in a newspaper.

Lover Marries His Dead Girl Friend in India

When 25-year-old orphan Madhu Verma from Bhopal died on Wednesday in a hospital and her body was brought to the Subhash Nagar cremation ground, her friends decided to fulfil her last wish - to marry boyfriend Bunty.

They called Bunty, the dead girl's lover to the crematorium and performed a brief marriage ceremony after which they cremated her - a task not traditionally performed by women in the traditional Hindu society.

Madhu, who earned a living by working in a beauty parlour and as a clerk in the hostel where she stayed, died of tuberculosis on Wednesday at the Kasturba Hospital where she had been admitted.

She had come to Bhopal five years ago from Ujjain where she was born and had spent the first 20 years of her life at Nari Niketan, a shelter for destitute women. She was staying at a hostel for working women here for the past five years.

"We rushed to the cremation ground as soon as we got the news of her death," said her friend Meena Singh. She is also the warden of the hostel where Madhu was staying.

There's such lovers too in the land of flirt and oomphs!

Guwahati Emerges as Prostitute Hub in India

When other Indian cities are gearing for IT hub, Technology park, software centre or Knowledge centre, Guwahati set to become a Prostitute hub in India. Consequently adding more hardships and tarnishing the entire North East India's image, who are sidelined as sex elements by mainland India. Trafficking of women from the North East has increased considerably in recent years with Guwahati being identified as the main transit point for sending girls to brothels in Siliguri, Kolkata and New Delhi.

A study conducted by an NGO, Global Organisation for Life Development (GOLD), found that 48 percent of sex workers at Khalpara in Siliguri were from Assam and three percent from the other Northeastern states. Traffickers ensnare an estimated 500 women, including minors, every year from Assam alone and the situation might actually worsen in the next few years, Assam's inspector general of police (CID) G Bhuyan said.

"We have to receive complaints to make arrests as it is difficult to just go and arrest somebody without proper information. We send teams to different parts of the country--mainly to New Delhi, Haryana, Mumbai and Siliguri--as and when we get information on trafficked women," he added.

Traffickers generally target girls from poor families living along the rivers who are displaced by regular floods, take them outside the state and force them into prostitution. Bhuyan said human trafficking is more serious where minor girls are involved and NGOs should focus on how to stop them from falling victims.

President of Impulse NGO network, Meghalaya Hasina Kharbhigh was reported to have said that they are organising consultations among the stakeholders to build a framework to tackle the problem. She pointed out that besides sexual exploitation, children and young women are also trafficked for cheap labour and organ transplants. "Prevention of trafficking must be the prime objective of the stakeholders but what was equally important was the rehabilitation of the rescued victims," she added.

Two Singers Sought for Rape in Thailand

Two Thai singers are being sought on charges of sexually assaulting a young woman from Netherlands in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Lt Weerapong Rakhito of Kathu Police Station was reported to havesaid that, at 3:30 AM on Saturday, Patong Hospital reported that two women tourists, one apparently the victim of a sexual assault, had arrived there by tuk-tuk.

Eighteen-year-old Anna (name changed) told police she had been attacked twice earlier that morning at the residence of the accused on Siriraj Road.

Lt Weerapong also said that Anna and her sister Linda (name changed), 25, said that they had come to Phuket on vacation. Linda said that they went to Sera Pub at Patong Hill, where Anna and a male singer identified only by the name of Pla were on friendly terms. Pla was the lead singer of a band that regularly performed in the bar.

Linda explained to the police that, after the pub closed, Pla persuaded Anna to go with him to his room up the hill behind the pub "to get something". An hour later, Anna returned to the bar without her shoes, and with a black eye and blood on her legs.

Linda narrated to police that Pla had forced Anna into his room and allegedly raped her. As Anna escaped from Pla’s room clutching her clothes, another singer from Pla’s band allegedly grabbed hold of Anna. When Anna resisted, the second man allegedly punched her in the stomach and the face, and then raped her.

The two singers have yet to be found, but face charges of rape, punishable by imprisonment of four years to 20 years and a fine of 8, 000 baht to 40, 000 baht.

Lt Weerapong added that Anna had photos of both accused attackers in her digital camera. Hope this might give clue to find the culprits!

Rape in a First Class Coupe of Toofan Express

In a shocking incident on the Howrah-bound Toofan Express, a 19-year-old girl, who boarded the train at Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh on Monday, was repeatedly raped in a First Class coupe. The girl lost consciousness and was found by Railway police personnel when the train halted at Madhupur in Jharkhand this afternoon.

GRP personnel, who had detained a vendor, Mohammed Aslam, on the charge of suspicion, later made the train stop at Chittaranjan, the next important station after Madhupur, and took into custody three other vendors and a train ticket examiner (TTE). Another TTE had disappeared and the police were looking for him.

Doctors at the Madhupur railway hospital, who examined the girl, confirmed rape. It's suspected that she was administered food or drinks laced with intoxicants and raped.

Girls, beware of enjoying the journey alone in such situation!

Sisters' Anger Murders Both Parent and Brothers

Two sisters in Pakistan had been charged with murder of their parents and two brothers, allegedly in a fit of rage after their father beat them.

The two women, identified as 28-year-old Asya and Hansa, 20, have confessed to the killings on Monday to a local police official.

It was reported that the women allegedly laced the family's evening meal with sleeping pills before using an axe to kill their 60-year-old father, 50-year-old mother and two brothers.

The incident took place in Pandowal, a village about 400 kilometres northeast of Multan, a major town in Punjab province.

During questioning, the women said their father regularly beat them and that a beating on Sunday night was the final straw.

The two sisters confessed, "Our parents used to beat us since our childhood. They were not good with us. We mixed sleeping pills in their food and killed them but we regret it now."

A Pakistani newspaper reported on Tuesday that the women were upset that their father wanted to marry them off without their consent. Might be true!

Casteist Slur in School, Can't Remove it Then!

Read to these complaints by a teacher who was suspended on caste basis. If even teachers are not spared in place of learning, how then the casteism remove from our society!

"Just because I am a Dalit, the principal has given me strict orders not to touch the matka (pot) and related utensils. When questioned, she said that since I was from a lower caste, I must make separate arrangements for water and tiffin. The principal also asked me to wash her food plate. When I resisted, she said that since I belonged to a lower caste, it was my job to wash plates."

Tripura Rebels Made Porn Films to Collect Revenues

Porn films made by Tripura rebels are sold in various parts of India and nearby countries, and the money generated by sales is used to buy arms to support the guerrilla campaign against Indian forces.

A police official investigating the case said several women cadres of the outlawed All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) and NLFT had fled their jungle hideouts after being subjected to frequent sexual abuse by leaders.

The opening sequence of the film 'Hamjagoi Tongthoklaima' in the local language of Tripura, makes it look like a romantic thriller. But soon the frames shifts from mere holding of hands to explicit sex scenes with young tribal women clad in jeans and skirts featuring in the film made in the digital format.

'Hamjagoi Tongthoklaima' or 'Our Experiences' is no ordinary film but a porn movie unearthed by a team of local journalists in Tripura and later corroborated by police as being an example of how tribal separatists are forcibly using women to act in porn films that are sold to raise funds for their rebellion.

It is just one of many porn films reportedly made by the outlawed National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT), a group fighting for an independent homeland in the state bordering Bangladesh.

Police said they learned about the films with explicit sex scenes featuring tribal women from surrendered NLFT rebels. "We found out that rebel leaders forced several women cadres and some male recruits into acting in many pornographic films shot in the jungles," a senior police official was reported to have said, quoting some surrendered NLFT rebels.

"Many girls fled from the grip of the rebels and narrated their experiences to us," the source said. "Obviously the money made from such porn films was used for their armed campaign."

Police are on the trail of the porn filmmakers since last month when some women rebel cadres fled their camps and surrendered before authorities, alleging sexual abuse by their male leaders.

Reports also said the films were dubbed in several languages like Thai, Japanese and Burmese to woo viewers in adjoining countries.

University Professor Runs Sex Racket

A woman professor in Andhra Pradesh’s famous temple town of Tirupati has been arrested for running a sex racket from her four-storied home.

Vasantha Kumari, a professor in the department of education in Sri Venkateswara University, has been suspended by an embarrassed administration after police picked up two couples from her house in posh Balaji Colony.

The raid on night followed a tip-off from some of the other girls allegedly roped into the flesh trade by the academic.

Police said five people were arrested and incriminating evidence like cell phones, liquor bottles and condoms seized.

The incident has shocked the town, famous for its Lord Venkateswara temple. Women’s and student organisations have demanded that police arrest other powerful people allegedly involved in the racket.

Police said Vasantha Kumari had been involved in the racket for a long time, but they could not take any action for want of evidence. Others said she had managed to evade police net because of her influence in political circles.

The professor has denied the charges and said she had given part of her premises on rent to young women. She has accused a local Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader for the raid.

Brave Girl Puts Mother Behind Bars

An 11-year-old Muslim girl in West Bengal who was married off forcibly has lodged a police complaint leading to the arrest of her mother and the priest who officiated the wedding.

Little Bilkish was married off by her mother Mayna Bibi against her wishes to 25-year-old Tufan Sheikh of the same Mahammadpur village in Murshidabad district nearly a month ago.

Tufan, who works as a daily labourer in Lucknow, wanted to take Bilkish with him to his place.
Unhappy with the marriage and fearing that her studies would come to an abrupt end, the Class 4 girl on Wednesday picked up courage and went to a police station with her friend during lunch break.

There she lodged a complaint against her mother and others leading to the arrest of Mayna Bibi and Kazi Marzem, the priest who officiated her marriage.

"Parents marrying off their children below the age of 18 should be hanged," Bilkish said."I have always told my mother that I want to study and be a teacher some day. But she refused to listen and forced me into this marriage," Bilkish said.

Police are on the lookout for the girl's husband, mother-in-law, the marriage registrar and witnesses to the marriage.

Mirza Mainuddin, the head master of Bilkish's school, was proud of what his student did and said people involved in the marriage of a minor should be given exemplary punishment. Bravo Bilkish!

Headmaster Beaten for Making Girls Strip!

Enraged parents beat up a headmaster in Hyderabad who threatened teenage girls with a cane to force them to strip and then photographed them, police source said.

After taking the girls’ photos on his digital camera, he sent them to pornographic Websites, as well as storing them on his computer.

After being beaten, V Srinivas Rao, in charge of a private school in Vijaywada town in Andhra Pradesh, was garlanded with slippers - an insult - by several parents and taken to a police station where he was arrested.

To escape from being penalised by the cane of the headmaster, girl students went up to his room and posed for his digital camera, police assistant commissioner K Satyanarayana said.

Thus, Rao had bullied 16 girls into stripping.

Cocaine and Drug Inside the Colombian Congress

Colombian politicians use cocaine at work and the drug is being sold within the halls of Congress, the senate vice president was reported to have said, disclosing details of an investigation that uncovered serious security breaches.

"Biscuit sellers, shoe sellers, astrologers and marijuana and cocaine dealers all enter Congress," Senator Edgar Artunduaga said.

Artunduaga, however, refused to provide the names of lawmakers he said were using cocaine, despite pressure from some of his colleagues. He noted that it's legal in Colombia to possess small amounts of marijuana, cocaine or heroin for personal usage.

"But I will denounce the (drug) dealers to authorities," he said, describing some of them as "middle-ranking officials."

"Artunduaga should present evidence and say who are the lawmakers that use drugs, or resign," said Armando Benedetti, a pro-government deputy in the lower chamber.

"Speaking for myself, nobody has offered me any," Navarro, who is running for president in next year's elections, told Caracol radio.

Colombia is the world's biggest producer of cocaine. The United States has provided some USD 4 billion in mostly military aid to Colombia since 2000 to combat drug trafficking and leftist rebels that control much of the trade.

Only Love, No Sex Dear!

A Malaysian woman had spiked her New Zealand lover's drinks to slow him down because he wanted sex up to five times a day.

Mee Kwan Ng, 41, a former air hostess from Kuala Lumpur, walked free on Wednesday from the Auckland District Court after justices ruled there was insufficient evidence for her to stand trial on a charge of administering a poison to her former fiance, Martin Walker, 53.

Outside the court, her lawyer, Michael Corry was reported to have said, "She put the pharmaceuticals in his drink to reduce his ability to make sexual demands. She just got to the end of her tether and was trying to introduce medication which would make him drowsy, which would in turn reduce the level of demand for sexual relations."

Ng, who moved in with Walker when he proposed marriage after they corresponded by email, admitted to police that she drugged his food and beverages because he demanded sex four to five times a day and she wanted to "slow him down".

Meanwhile Walker revealed, "I think she was probably trying to dampen my romantic and sexual ardour," but said he accepted that she was not trying to cause him significant harm.

Once a Dishwasher, Now a Millionaire

A non-resident Indian (NRI) who has created waves by buying a former mining town in Canada was once so poor that he could not afford college education and washed dishes to survive.

Back in 1963, when Krishnan Suthanthiran wastaking care of his father's grocery store in Tamil Nadu, he was asked why he didn't go to college even after topping in his high school.

A friend replied: "His father is too poor to send him (to college)."

Now the founder-CEO of Best Medical, a US-based company supplying high-tech medical equipment, he credits his rise to the many well-meaning people who crossed his path 'at the right time, at the right place'.

Suthanthiran - today a millionaire busy transforming a ghost town he bought for USD 5.7 million - admitted he had found the reply 'a bit insulting'.

The father of one of his friends gave him Rs.300 and sent him to meet the college principal. Later, Suthanthiran, who left India when he was 15, started scholarships in the name of the man who helped him and helped to build a school in his hometown.

After he got admission in Carleton University in Canada, he washed dishes to make ends meet. He finally got a research assistantship and in the 1970s moved to the US, looking for a job.

He has also bought a TV company to make sure the tourism plan gets in-your-face publicity. He envisages not just buildings, houses, apartments, swimming pools, coastline and hills but also spas, skiing and water sports facilities.

"I made sacrifices. I didn't marry and have children. My work became my life. That's what is unusual but also unbelievable. I maintained a low profile and did not have much of a social life," Suthanthiran said.

Money Never Betrays Me

Of the more than 2,000 Japanese girls, the quote above is quite striking. It comes from a veteran who had been working at a "soapland" in Yoshihara for 5 years.

From an early age, her life has been nothing but a series of betrayals, shes told me. Her father abandoned her when she was just a kid. Her boyfriend suddenly disappeared from her life. She could no longer believe in anything, and ended up at a place where she could make money with her body.

As for myself, I have worked at various jobs in the sex industry since turning 18. I started doing this line of work because the man I was in love with had made me work at a sex massage parlor. Eventually, I fell in love with the money. Well, to be more accurate, I do not mean that I was in love with the money itself, but rather I got satisfaction and felt confident in myself for earning money with my body.

My Step-brother Raped Me, says Teenager

Her bedroom was supposed to be a safe place. It wasn't. A young Chatsworth teenager is receiving counselling and undergoing medical treatment after allegedly being raped by her step-brother. The story of her alleged ordeal is the talk of the community.

The two were at home on their own when the incident took place on August 3, 2005 morning. Her father and stepmother were not at home at the time of the incident.

Capt Jeff Ellappen, commander of the Child Protection Unit, was reported to have said the girl was apparently followed into her bedroom by her stepbrother.

"He allegedly pushed her on to the bed and began removing all her clothes. He then raped her," said Ellappen. "A medical examination has yet to be conducted.".

He said the identity of the suspect is known but an arrest cannot be made until the medical examination has been carried out.

A friend of the victim said the teenager is in a 'bad state' and was not eating or drinking anything.

Mike Tyson May Turn Porn Star for Cash

Former World Boxing Champion Mike Tyson may star in a porn film with Jenna Jameson.

Tyson, who retired from boxing last month, said that he desperately needs money to pay his tax bills of several million dollars, and a porn career could help him in his cause.

"I just talked to a gentleman called Jimmy who's involved with Jenna Jameson. They said they were interested in getting me involved in the adult film industry. I need the money up front," femalefirst quoted him as saying to Zoo magazine.

American boxing journalist Pedro Fernandez also said that Tyson, who was jailed for six years in 1992 on rape charges, would triumph in the sex industry.

Once Raped, Caught For Adultery

Under Pakistan's hudood laws, a woman who reports that she has been raped is liable to be arrested for adultery or fornication - since she admits to sex outside of marriage - unless she can provide four male eyewitnesses to the rape.

On January 2, Dr. Shazia woke up in the middle of the night, and at first she thought she was having a nightmare. "But this person was really pulling hard on my hair, and then he started pressing on my throat so I couldn't breathe. ... He tied the telephone cord around my throat. I resisted and struggled, and he beat me on the head with the telephone receiver. When I tried to scream, he said, 'Shut up - there's a man standing outside named Amjad, and he's got kerosene. If you scream, I'll take it and burn you alive.' ... Then he took my prayer scarf and he blindfolded me with it, and he took the telephone cord and tied my wrists, and he laid me down on the bed. I tried hard to fight but he raped me."

The man spent the night in her room, beating her, casually watching television, raping her again and boasting about his powerful connections. A 35-page confidential report by a tribunal describes Dr. Shazia tumbling into the nurse's quarters that morning: "semiconscious ... with a swelling on her forehead and bleeding from nose and ear." "They told me to be quiet and not to tell anybody because it would ruin my reputation," Dr. Shazia remembers.

One official warned that if she reported the crime, she could be arrested. That was a genuine risk.
Dr. Shazia wasn't sure she dared to report the crime, but she begged for permission to contact her family. So, she says, officials drugged her into a stupor and then confined her in a psychiatric hospital in Karachi. "They wanted to declare me crazy," Dr. Shazia said bitterly. "That's why they shifted me to a hospital for crazy people." Dr. Shazia's husband, Khalid Aman, was working as an engineer in Libya, but he finally was notified and rushed back 11 days later.

Dr. Shazia, by then freed, couldn't face him, but he comforted her, told her that she had done nothing wrong, and insisted that they report the rape to the police so that the criminal could be caught.
That was, perhaps, naïve, particularly because there were rumors that the police had identified the rapist as a senior army officer and were covering up for him.

"When I treat rape victims, I tell the girls not to go to the police," Dr. Shershah Syed, a prominent gynecologist in Karachi said. "Because if she goes to the police, the police will rape her." That's the way the world works for anyone unfortunate enough to be born female in much of the world.

Doctor Accused of Demanding Sex for Drugs

An Indian American doctor in Washington has been charged with asking sexual favours from a female patient for months in return for much-needed but highly addictive prescription drugs.

Abhay Vivek Aggoria, 51, of Woodbridge in the greater Washington area was charged with making a patient perform sex acts with him in return for treatment, in a case that is part of a broader probe into physicians, pharmacists and patients suspected of distributing potent narcotics.

The doctor fondled the woman and then prescribed Percocet pills for her during a series of office visits starting last year. The behaviour is alleged to have continued until January.

According to the court papers, at one point Aggroia told the woman that if she wanted more Percocet, she would have to provide 'more' for him. When the woman asked what that meant, Aggroia told her in 'blunt and graphic terms' that he wanted oral sex, the papers said, adding she complied during weekly and biweekly visits because she had become addicted to the medication.

Protests in School over Salwar Kameez

Some male teachers at Kolkata's outskirts staged a protest against a recently-appointed lady colleague, for wearing the salwar kameez.

They unleashed a campaign against the lady teacher and asked her to come to school in a sari and with traditional bangles of conch and vermilion on the parting of hair to signify her married status.

In January, a woman teacher in a school in north Kolkata was reprimanded for putting lipstick.

What a world is this!

Held for Parading Junior Naked

If taking ragging and playing pranks is the prime choice, why join college, go to some railway station or bus stands!

Six students of an engineering college in Chhatisgarh allegedly parade a junior student naked and then physically assault him inside the campus.

The students have been arrested under the Ragging (Prevention) Act, 2001, which makes their offence non-bailable and invites a punishment of a maximum of 5 years in jail if the charges are proved.

This is the first major ragging incident in Chhattisgarh in the current academic session that began on July 1. The education department has warned that action would be taken against the principals of institutions reporting ragging cases.

Dalit Auto Driver Blinded

A Dalit auto-rickshaw driver in Bihar was blinded by the sharp end of an umbrella by five passengers, enraged that he had asked them for his fare of Rs.50.

Sanjay Paswan, who is in his early 30s, was beaten and blinded when he demanded the fare in the presence of the village headman in Maner near Patna.

After the incident, local police allegedly refused to lodge a complaint fearing retribution by the five men who are said to be powerful and enjoying political patronage.

In a society steeped in caste prejudices, Paswan's troubles did not end there. He was refused admission in two government-run hospitals in Patna before finally being allowed treatment at a private nursing home.

Paro in Haryana, India

Paro is a term used for any outsider girl, usually hailing from Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh, who has been 'married' to a Mewati local. It's not a new phenomenon and has existed in this society for years now.

The arrangement is well formulated. Any local boy or man, who is unemployed, poor and landless, handicapped, a divorcee or widower, basically anyone who has a problem getting married locally, procures a girl, usually a minor, from poverty-stricken districts in other states and ‘marries’ her.

The marriage is dubious as they usually don't have any marriage certificates and are simply relationships of convenience. Clearly, all these girls who reach here are being trafficked. Trafficking of women in India is largely for prostitution but a small percentage of them are also trafficked to live as sexual brides in many regions of Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.

Mewat is one region where it is done on a large scale. It is the most backward district in Haryana. The problem (of sexual brides) is really grave there due a host of factors. It's a Muslim-dominated area and has a large population. On an average, every family has 8-10 children. It is an archaic society where women have no say and are confined to their homes. There is very little education in this region.

The groom makes no bones about the fact that he got a new bride only for procreation and sexual gratification. The case of sexual brides is a natural corollary of the socio-economic system prevailing in the country. Such unions are of mutual convenience. The men are poor, unemployed, handicapped and cannot get married locally as there are no girls for them in districts with extremely skewed male-female ratios.

Desperate to get girls, they want no dowry and are instead willing to pay the girls' family. The girls are illiterate; their families impoverished due to droughts, famines or cyclones and incapable of offering dowries demanded by boys of their area. So it's a symbiotic relationship.

The men get girls to carry their family name forward and the girl's family is relieved of the burden of dowry. All these Paros come for a price that is cheaper than cattle, mostly Rs. 3000-4000. Some of these Paros have been married to Mewati men for a long time. Several cases of reselling are also coming to the fore. At times, if a man who gets a Paro is not 'satisfied', he sells her again or passes her on to her kinfolk.

In addition to this, the victims are subject to mental and physical violence and are exposed to all kinds of diseases, including sexually Transmitted Infections and HIV/AIDS. Trafficking in all its forms violates the universal human right to life and liberty.

First Electronic Paper That Bends

Japanese researchers showed off a bendable electronic paper that uses almost no power whilst displaying images, making it useful for advertising on buildings and vehicles.
Electronics maker Fujitsu said the electronic paper was the first that can preserve images in vivid colour and without distortion when they are folded or bent.
The paper has an image memory function that means it has no need for electricity other than a minimal amount when changing the picture.

Tourism Plan in NE India

Indian government attaches great importance to the development of tourist infrastructure in the North East region in view of its immense tourist potential. To pacify the mad hill tribes, Indian government chalked out various strategies. In the name of developing the entire NE region, an announcement was made by the Ministry of Tourism today.

Watch out! Is the package meant for entire NE or for Nagaland, state whom India most afraid!

Under the scheme of integrated development of Tourist Circuits and Destination Development, some of the major projects sanctioned in the year 2004-05 are as under:

* Naga Heritage Complex, Nagaland

* Development of Touphema complex, Nagaland

* Destination Development of Pfutsero, Nagaland

* Rural Tourism project in Nagaland, PM’s package

* Development Zeminthang,Arunachal Pradesh

* Development of NE Circuit, Assam

* Development of Tourism Circuit, Meghalaya

* Destination Development of Mizoram

Where are other NE states!

Forget it, Who cares! This hilly state needs to be revamped as NSCN (IM) often visits as Official VVIP of India. Tourism needs to grow for him in his state…

Grandmom, You Are Wonderful!

A Berlin grandmother who has worked the city's diplomatic quarter as a prostitute for the last 49 years plans to retire when she turns 64 next year.
Even though prostitutes were forced to leave the area after the Berlin Wall fell because dead-end streets in the downtrodden district were re-connected to east Berlin and property values surged, Renate Dolle was allowed to stay, the German newspaper said.
"I've got a lot of regular clients," the blonde woman told the newspaper. She said she charges 30 euros ($36) and on good nights she has four to five clients.
"I'm going to stop at 64 and retire," said Dolle, whose husband drops her off for work each night after the television evening news and who has a nine-year-old granddaughter.
She is one of 10,000 prostitutes in Berlin and 400,000 in Germany, where prostitution is legal. Dolle said she tried to work in a popular red light district nearby recently but was chased away by younger competitors.
"What do you want here, you old whore, get lost," Dolle said they shouted at her. "What did I ever do to them?"
Strange World!

Look Out, Future Police!

Three IPS probationary beat up indiscriminately a father and son. The father was running a pan shop. The incident occurs over Re.1 extra on MRP of a cigarette packet. Father and son did not know they were policemen. If they knew the future consequences, the man would have kept quiet while they were beating up his son.

The IPS probationers who are undergoing training in the nearby
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy beat up the father and son indiscriminately. Unable to tolerate their highhandedness, the locals attacked those trainee officers - Keval Khurana, Anand Kumar Tiwari and Irshad.

The poor family never thought that a small argument for just Re 1 would ruin family. Even today the son could not forget the reign of terror unleashed by the IPS trainees on the fateful night.

Another fear is that the police may pick up the son at any moment as an attempt to murder case (Section 307 of IPC) was registered against him after the clash.

The police registered cases against the IPS trainees under Section 323 (beating with hands) and Section 427 (damaging property) of IPC. The slow pace of the case investigation had strengthened the suspicion that the police were trying to shield the probationers.

What will be the public's fate if they become an IPS officer? God knows but not a good sign for general public.

Forest Fire Now Turns Office Fire

What a shame, ANSAM!

Forget Manipur if you don't love and have feeling for it. Don't think of holding both hands- Manipur and Nagaland.
Think radically, what you want, Nagaland or Manipur, choose only one and leave quitely in jungles of pre historic where people used to live separately and in scattered herds thinking world is so limited.
Go out.. seek what the world is preparing for global village.. and you a selfish ...
Stop forest fire, don't ever play with it!!

Painting, Rather Than Writing!

"Often while reading a book one feels that the author would have preferred to paint rather than write; one can sense the pleasure he derives from describing a landscape or a person, as if he were painting what he is saying, because deep in his heart he would have preferred to use brushes and colours." - Pablo Picasso

Americans Uncomfortable of Sex !!

I came across some articles in my mailbox recently that Americans are uncomfortable talking about sex. I'm not sure where I saw it, but it doesn't matter -- almost every magazine article about having better sex makes a statement like this. They don't even bother to attribute it to anyone, but assume that we all know it's true, and it merely needs to be restated for context.

Americans are talking about sex all over the internet. In fact, to judge by the blogs, podcasts, chats and e-mail discussions, we can't shut up about it.

Whatever kink, fetish, preference or lifestyle turns us on, we'll find other people eager to converse with us about it online. Connecting with others and discovering that each of us is special and normal at the same time -- no matter how freaky we thought we were -- has brought healthy sex talk into the open all around the world, not just in America. Along with plenty of smut, of course.

Coming back to a small yet, advanced Manipur state in India - See on e-pao.net! A good meeting place for all Manipuries, chat room is so dirty, never dare to open in public, especially when at home. No control over language, sex, sex, sex all the time!

Neverheless, sex should be in the forefront of our conversations these days, as erotic entertainment has been attacked yet again by well-connected zealots bent on destroying the adult industry through censorship, unfair regulation and exposing performers to danger.

Amazingly, among other things, updated US federal regulations require distributors and retailers of adult content to maintain detailed records about performers' ages, real names and home addresses.

Sound familiar? You're right! The content producers already do this! But now everyone else in the supply chain has to as well -- and from what I can tell, so do you, if you're running a nudie cam out of your basement.

Suffice it to say that I remain unconvinced the revised code will do anything to prevent the sexual exploitation of children.

With visual porn under attack, it's entirely possible Americans will wind up talking about sex even more than we already do. Text and audio are not subject to the same rules that govern images, and podcasts are more discreet and portable than porn.

At Least They Admire Lord!

A new survey in London has found that youngsters are 'highly responsible' and identify Jesus Christ as their superhero, followed by Florence Nightingale and ace footballer David Beckham.

According to the Telegraph, for 92 per cent youngsters, the definition of a 'superhero' is 'the one who stops bad things happening', while 91 per cent said that 'a superhero is generally a good guy', followed by 90 per cent who feel 'a superhero would always tell the truth'.

Ninety per cent youngsters claimed that they want to put an end to hunger in their 'ideal world', and 25 percent advocated no restrictions or rules as the path to a better life.

They also showed concern for the environment, with 86 percent wanting to get rid of litter, 83 percent wanting to stop people smoke, 72 percent wanting graffiti cleared up and 69 per cent wanting a ban on alcohol and drugs.

Wow! what a good genX London got in times of terror and devastating world. Hope so called modern Indian genX too think it, rather than on imitating utopian culture which doesn't exist at all!

Suing Parents, Why so Late?

More than 28 years after being dumped in the street as a newborn baby, Menezes, a computer science graduate is suing her biological parents for one million rupees for abandoning her. But, Karanjia, foster mom said Menezes' biological mother returned to Taran Tarn to reclaim the child when she was 12. They even take away the litle Menezes, but she returned.

The case, the first of its kind in India, is set down for hearing on July 20 in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, where Menezes was abandoned outside a hospital in Taran Tarn soon after she and her twin sister were born on May 7, 1977.

Hey! Read out what the women said - "How can I forgive? It was their duty to care for me; instead I was abandoned. Do you know what it is like to grow up without a father's hug? A kiss, just one kiss from a mother? They should have strangled me when I was born."

Menezes' 31-year-old husband says he wants to start afresh with his wife. "I now have a job in Kuwait and the moment I am settled there I will take her and we will start a new life. I want to end this pain ... all this anger and move on in life."

<>But boss, why don't you request to your wife to act sensibly? Is it the right time to trouble the old parents? It's wrong that they abandoned, but is it not your duty to look after instead the old helpless couple! Are you doing all this for one million rupees! <>

Be loyal to your parents whatever they did, this is Indian society where parents are respected as god! You open a Pandora box for the future...

India Really Afraid of NSCN (IM)

Why the hell Indian government negotiating with some anti social elements of the outlawed leaders of separatist National Socialist Council of Nagaland (IM) group. I heard that a close door meeting is expected outside the country to discuss extension of a ceasefire aimed at ending nearly 6 decades of insurgency in Nagaland.

But who said the decade long insurgency happens in Nagaland. That small state is always a peaceful; centre always favours them, no bankruptcy, no massacre, no raping of women by Indian army and no ransom. Who says the state as hell!

The NSCN-IM, led by Isak Chishi Swu and Thuingaleng Muiva has been terrorising in the adjoining state of Manipur, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, only for personal gain.

What a bullshit suggestion from an Indian official, "There is no reason why we should not extend the ceasefire by another year as we are committed to finding an acceptable political solution."

Go and stay in adjoining state like Manipur, walk the street there in Ukhrul, Senapati and other hilly regions. One could witness how these so called Naga (naked) playing dirty political games. Surely those Naga sympathisers from Delhi will get a couple of slaps even from a school going kid, without any reason. So terrible, barbaric yet give them peace loving.

The governments of Assam, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh have rejected the NSCN demand for unification of the Naga dominated areas. But why, give them and let them die in their own den. These narrow minded ones is using expansionist theory that ends with British rule.

<>Really India is afraid of NSCN (IM). If they win, India will 100 percent lost South, North, East and West regions too. That’s a bet !

What You Will Eat in Future!

What if eating bread could help diabetes, if breakfast cereal could help fight cholesterol? Imagine food tailored to your bodies needs.

These are just some of the issues Dr Jan Mahoney, CEO, Grain Foods CRC Ltd, will be addressing at the Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology Inc (AIFST)’s 38th Annual Convention in Sydney.

Dr Jan Mahoney says the company is combining genomics and applications technology to develop new products. Consequently, differentiating the World grains industry and to drive prosperity along the value chain into the future.

“We will be focussing on the whole grain, the various fractions and many compounds produced by grains. Grains have healthy, disease fighting compounds such as anti-cancer compounds. And how we can naturally fortify food by increasing the nutritious components in grains and pulses,” Dr Mahoney said.

She also added that over 80 percent of the bread market is sliced white bread. It can be made healthier by combining the beneficial components of grains and pulses into the bread without changing the texture or flavour of the bread.

And bread is not the only product that can provide healthy benefits with the addition of grains and pulses. There are a range of consumables from noodles to even beer can be fortified by certain components of grains to provide a more nutritious product to the consumer.

What Emotion is This?

Emotions provides depth to my life. And what a sad life it would be, to feel no emotions at all. Better to feel painful emotions than no emotions at all!

That may sound odd, but let me proof. Those painful emotions exist as little more than an oil slick covering the surface of a pond. What seems so 'heavy' - really has less weight, and much less substance - than the positive, expansive emotions that ALWAYS lie on the other side of the painful, constrictive emotions.
