Sisters' Anger Murders Both Parent and Brothers

Two sisters in Pakistan had been charged with murder of their parents and two brothers, allegedly in a fit of rage after their father beat them.

The two women, identified as 28-year-old Asya and Hansa, 20, have confessed to the killings on Monday to a local police official.

It was reported that the women allegedly laced the family's evening meal with sleeping pills before using an axe to kill their 60-year-old father, 50-year-old mother and two brothers.

The incident took place in Pandowal, a village about 400 kilometres northeast of Multan, a major town in Punjab province.

During questioning, the women said their father regularly beat them and that a beating on Sunday night was the final straw.

The two sisters confessed, "Our parents used to beat us since our childhood. They were not good with us. We mixed sleeping pills in their food and killed them but we regret it now."

A Pakistani newspaper reported on Tuesday that the women were upset that their father wanted to marry them off without their consent. Might be true!
